Little Mix will pull double-duty by hosting and performing at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards this weekend, and Lady Gaga leads this year’s nominations with seven, including best song, best video and best collaboration for her No. 1 splash hit “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande, who was last year’s leading nominee also with seven nods. BTS and Justin Bieber tie as runners-up to Gaga with five nods each.
The MTV EMA added three new categories this year: best Latin, video for good and best virtual live. The first two came directly from the MTV Video Music Awards, where they were introduced in 2010 and 2011, respectively. The awards show will also honor five “fearless women” from around the world with the MTV EMA Generation Change Award for their extraordinary work fighting for racial and social justice.
